Atmosphere in Ludhiana got heated up after a few Nihangs tried to surround Hindu leader Rohit Sahni’s office. The incident took place post a statement released on social media by Hindu leader Waris Punjab De Chief Amritpal Singh.
As per information received, a few Nihangs gathered around Hindu leader Rohit Sahni’s office at Fountain Chowk on Tuesday evening after he made remarks about Amritpal Singh. Rohit Sahni came on social media and stated that Waris Punjab De Chief Amritpal Singh need to get his mental health check up done for which he will pay him a check of Rs. 21,000. This angered the Nihangs who then created a ruckus outside Sahni’s office.
On receiving information about it, concerned police officials reached the spot and pacified situation. Reportedly, police have taken hold of 2 Nihangs for creating unrest. Hindu leader also reached police station and started an argument with accused after which police force calmed down whole situation. Rohit Sahni said that he did not make any remark against Sikh religion but commented on those who are spoiling the environment of state.
ADCP Tushar Gupta stated, “the situation was brought under control when there was a chance. The matter is being investigated. Legal action will be taken after investigation.”
