Ludhiana residents terrorised by a leopard in the residential area; captured on CCTV

Panic ensued as the beast was caught on CCTV camera at Centra Green Flats

A recent CCTV video has surfaced in which a leopard can be seen terrorising the residents in Ludhiana. The video show the creature entering Centra Green flats situated on the Pakhowal road in Ludhiana.

One resident reported saw the animal and raised alarm, following which panic ensued in the area. In the footage on display the leopard can be see menacingly pacing around the society area.  The surrounding area has been shut down as the Ludhiana police and the Forest Department diligently search the area for traces of the beast.

The sales head of Centra green claimed that the creature that can be seen in footage is not a leopard but instead a large cat. According to him, there are big cats that are kept enclosed behind the complex. The Forest Department says that the creature that can be seen in the video is indeed a leopard. 

Usually as it starts to snow in northern regions of the countries, the leopards, deer and similar animals start to move towards the plains. The leopards reportedly usually move at night according to forest and wildlife officer Prithpal Singh and hence stated that at least 2 days will be needed to locate the creature. Leopards are capable of covering 100-200 km at night and hence the residents are adviced to stay inside and exercise caution. 

SHO Gurpreet Singh reassures that a thorough search of the area is being conducted. The residents have been advised to stay in their homes and not to panic.
