In a bizarre development, parents along with children jammed the Chandigarh road in Ludhiana in protest against a female teacher for beating the students. The ruckus was created in the government primary smart school in Jamalpur area of Ludhiana, Punjab. The parents of the students accused the school teacher of beating the children. Angry family members also blocked the Chandigarh road near the police colony. The police of Jamalpur police station, who reached the spot, removed the protesting children and their family members from the road.
As per reports, the students have alleged that on Thursdays the teacher gets possessed by some evil spirit (ghost). Due to this, she beats the children without thinking. A student named Ayush was quoted saying that we were studying with a book, and suddenly madam started beating us with sticks. The student further pointed that I don't know how this (possessing) leads to beating but she beat the children of the entire class.
Another student named Anmolpreet Singh revealed that we were standing outside the class when teacherKamaljit beat Akashdeep and me with sticks. The teacher started abusing the children without any reason. The school's head madam came and saved the children.
DO Elementary of the school stated that although beating children is wrong, the ghost story as baseless. Ravinder Kaur reportedly said that a letter would be written to the department to get the teacher medically examined. She may be mentally ill. Appropriate action will be taken against the teacher after investigating the matter.
In this case, teacher Kamaljit Kaur said that she was teaching environmental subject in the class. There was a word which the children were using as an abuse. Due to this, she was scolded. Kamaljit said that there is no evil spirit in her. The children are lying.
