A voter turnout of 41.04% was recorded in the Ludhiana West Assembly constituency by 3 PM on Thursday. District Election Officer (DEO) Himanshu Jain stated that the voting, which began at 7 AM today, has been proceeding peacefully and smoothly. He informed that in the first two hours (from 7 AM to 9 AM), the voter turnout was 8.5%, which rose to 21.51% by 11 AM and reached 33.42% by 1 PM.
During his visit to several polling stations on Thursday, the District Election Officer held detailed discussions with polling staff, voters, and representatives of political parties. He said that the peaceful voting so far reflects the citizens’ love and sense of duty toward the nation.
Himanshu Jain also encouraged voters to come out in large numbers to cast their votes and set a new record for voter participation. Voting will continue until 6 PM and will go on until the last voter present inside the polling station has cast their vote.
Meanwhile, General Observer Rajeev Kumar also visited over 45 polling booths and said that the polling process is being conducted in a completely peaceful manner.
