Bihar Assembly Elections results were announced on the intervening night of November 10-11 and this time again NDA got the majority of seats to rule the state. However, this time it was a bit speculated that RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, son of Lalu Yadav might come into power.

On the day of results, the earlier trends showed that Mahagathbandhan was leading against NDA but as the day unfolded the latter scripted the history for the third time. In spite of the knife-edge fight with NDA, the Grand Alliance couldn't meet the majority seats thus, lost being so near and yet so far.

Divulging the details of vote-share, the difference between NDA and RJD-led Mahagathbandhan was literally minimal. What ended the battle between the two key rivals was just 12,768 votes (out of about 3.14 crore) which went to the NDA.

NDA polled 1,57,01,226 votes while MGB stood behind it at 1,56,88,458 votes. This comes out to be  0.03% of the total votes polled in the state, with NDA's share being 37.26% and the MGB 37.23%.

Shockingly, this wafer-thin vote share is considerably less than the average victory margin of 16,825 votes in these polls. It is pertinent to mention here, of 243 total seats in the Assembly 130 seats were won by margins in excess of 12,768 votes.

Calculatively this means that MGB has garnered as little as 53 votes in each of the state's constituencies which went to the NDA, the Grand Alliance's would have increased easing them to form the government.
