Famous Telugu superstar and veteran actor Krishna passed away on Tuesday early morning at around 4 am. He took his last breath at a private super-specialty Continental Hospital where veteran actor Krishna was admitted on Monday.
Reportedly, the veteran actor Superstar Krishna was suffering from respiratory problems for quite some time and was rushed to hospital on Monday post suffering a cardiac arrest. Although, actor Naresh who was taking care of veteran Telugu actor stated that there was nothing to worry but Krishna’s health suddenly deteriorated after which he died. Superstar Krishna was staying in Nanakramguda which is close to the hospital. The Ghattamaneni family has been in a state of grief this year with two tragedies. In January this year, his elder son Ramesh Babu died while in September Krishna's wife, Mahesh Babu's mother Indira Devi also passed away due to illness.
Superstar Krishna was 80 years old and had won some of the top awards of country for his immense contribution to film industry. He was awarded with the Padma Bhushan in 2009 by Government of India and received the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award – South in addition to an Honorary doctorate from Andhra University in 2008. Talking about his political career, Superstar Krishna got elected as an MP for Congress party in 1989.
Speaking about his personal life, Krishna was married to Indira and later to Vijaya Nirmala whom he met on sets of Sakshi. He has five children with Indira; two sons—Ramesh Babu and Mahesh Babu, and three daughters—Padmavathi, Manjula, and Priyadarshini.
