'Mahesh Bhatt's real name is Aslam, he converted to marry his second wife': Kangana Ranaut stokes fresh row

Kangana Ranaut recently alleged that veteran director Mahesh Bhatt is a 'converted Muslim' and his actual name is 'Aslam'.

Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut often grabs the headline be it for her impeccable acting or be it 'giving it back' attitude. Kangana Ranaut and Bollywood are often at loggerheads and most often the Queen actress' statement becomes the talk of the town be it factually correct or not. Now, Kangana Ranaut Mahesh Bhatt have been trending on social media all for the wrong reasons. Kangana Ranaut recently alleged that veteran director Mahesh Bhatt is a 'converted Muslim' and his actual name is 'Aslam'.

Kangana Ranaut took to her Instagram on Sunday and shared a series of video allegedly of Mahesh Bhatt. Sharing multiple clips, Kangana Rananut took a jibe at Mahesh Bhatt's real name saying, "Mahesh ji casually and poetically inciting people for violence." Sharing another clip from the same video, she wrote, "I am told his (Mahesh Bhatt) real name is Aslam… he converted to marry his second wife (Soni Razdan)… it is a beautiful name, why hide it?” Another clip shared by Kangana was also accompanied by a statement on Mahesh’s name, which read, "He must use his real name, not represent a certain religion, when he has converted…"

It is pertinent to mention here that Kangana Ranaut made her Bollywood debut opposite Emran Hashmi in the movie Gangster. Interestingly, the movie was backed under Mahesh Bhatt's production banner. However, Kangana often lambasts Mahesh Bhatt. In the past, the Queen actress has slammed Mahesh Bhatt and his daughter Alia Bhatt as well.

When Alia Bhatt's movie Gangubai Kathiawadi was about to release in the theater, Kangana called Mahesh Bhatt a 'movie mafia' without taking his name and called his daughter 'Papa ki Pari' (Daddy's angel). In her post Kangana had wrote, "This Friday ₹200 crore will be burnt to ashes at the box office... for a papa (movie mafia daddy) ki pari (who likes to keep a British passport) because papa wants to prove that romcom bimbo can act... biggest drawback of the film is wrong casting... yeh nahi sudhrenge (these people won't change)…"

It is pertinent to mention here that Kangana had also lambasted Mahesh Bhatt for comparing late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput with Praveen Babi. Pinkvilla had quoted Kangana saying, "Mukesh Bhatt is now claiming that Sushant was heading the ‘Parveen Babi Way’. But what they did to Parveen Babi, everybody remembers."

Notably, Parveen Babi died a lonely death on 20 January, 2005. She was reportedly diagnosed as schizophrenic.
