A godown in Kutcha Number 16, Field Ganj caught fire on Thursday morning. Plastic and Disposables were stored in bulk in the godown due to which the fire spread rapidly in the entire building.

A short circuit was said to be the reason behind the fire as the godown was locked.

Fire Fighters reached the spot just after getting the information about the  fire incident. Over 50 fire tenders were pressed to service to control the blaze.

Leading fireman Rajinder Singh said, "We received the fire call around 5:45 a.m. and immediately rushed to the spot. The firemen are trying to control the flames from inside as well as from the adjoining buildings".

Field Ganj being one of the most massively populated and congested areas of the city there could have been a much worse result if the fire would not have been controlled. Luckily, there are no cases of casualties yet. The material inside the godown is completely burned.
