The person killed in the Ludhiana Court Blast on Thursday has been identified as Gagandeep Singh, a former cop who is believed to be a bomber with links to drug network.

Singh was dismissed from services in 2019 on the charges of A drug case and spent two years in jail. As per sources, he had planned to plant the bomb inside the court and produce as many casualties.

However, he failed to plant it properly and lost his life in the process. It is believed that if he had been successful in planting the bomb, more casualties might had taken place.

Gangandeep, a resident of GTB Nagar Khanna, had been posted as Munshi in Khanna Sir police station. As per reports, he had a tattoo of Khande (a Sikhism symbol) painted on his hand. Following the identification, the police raided his locality.

Gangandeep was identified after the security agencies tracked down his SIM card and a wireless dongle. The family has also confirmed his identity.
