With coronavirus creating chaos all over the world, people of India need to be united to defeat the deadly pandemic. However, coronavirus has brought up the age-old problem of racism. After Delhi, the economic capital of India witnessed a racial discrimination case on its soil. Another incident of racial discrimination against people from North East amid the coronavirus outbreak, an unidentified biker spat on a Manipuri woman while she was out to buy essentials during the lockdown in Mumba

The incident took place near Kalina Military Camp near Santacruz East. Vokala. Police are now scanning CCTV footage of the area to nab the culprit. 

The victim said she could not take down the registration number of the two-wheeler as she was in shock after the incident. The woman was with her friend when the incident took place. 

The woman now fears that she could be exposed to Covid-19 infection due to the action of the accused.

The victim's friend posted about the incident on social media. She wrote, " A North East girl from Manipur is the new victim again here in Mumbai. This happened just an hour ago. A biker came and spat on her. Mumbai is one of the most peaceful and safest place for North-East people and this was never expected. Just because of a few pathetic people like him, the entire city name is getting spoiled and people are feeling insecure."

The National Commission for Woman (NCW) took note of the incident and tweeted, "Yet another case of racial discrimination amid #COVID19outbreak, a miscreant spat on a northeastern girl at Kalina Market area in Mumbai. NCW will look into this matter for appropriate action."
