
Actor Manoj Bajpayeeon Tuesday filed a criminal defamation case against actor Kamaal R Khan in anIndore court. KRK, as he is commonly known, was previously slammed with alawsuit by actor Salman Khan, on similar grounds.
According to newsagency PTI, Manoj Bajpayee filed the criminal complaint in the courtof judicial magistrate first class (JMFC) against KRK under IPC section 500(punishment for defamation). He urged the court to register a criminaldefamation case in the matter, the actor's lawyer Paresh S Joshi said in a pressrelease.
While the tweets havenow been deleted, there's still one tweet on the microblogging platform, inwhich Khan is referring to Bajpayee as Charsi/Ganjedi (stoner).
According to reports,the complaint has been filed at the Indore Court. Sharing an update on thecase, Bajpayee’s lawyer Paresh S Joshi says, “We have filed a private criminaldefamation complaint against Mr Kamaal R Khan for offences under Section 499, andSection 500 of the IPC (Indian Penal Code).”
“With regard tothe complaint, my client’s statements were also recorded by the honourableCourt, and further the matter has been fixed for evidence for other witnesses.This is the current status of the case. The next hearing is on September 4,” headds.
The advocate alsoadds that right now they are not filing any case against comedian Sunil Pal. Reportedly;a few days ago Pal had taken a dig at Bajpayee while talking about lack ofcensorship on OTT platforms.
Meanwhile, Khan tookto twitter to reveal that he has not received any notice until now.
He also accusedBajpayee and other celebrities in Bollywood of ganging up against him.
