Maoists kill Maharashtrian villagers, say police informers will get capital punishment

Maoists have allegedly killed a local of Talguda village in Gadchiroli district in Maharshtra on suspension of being a police informer. The deceased has been identified as 32 year old Sonsay Tanu Baig.

His body was found on Sunday, along with Maoist banners which read that the 32 year old has been "awarded" capital punishment for being a police informer. This is the fourth killing in a week by the Maoists who have been abducting and killing villigers obn suspension of being police informers.

Last year, 40 Maoists were killed in two encounters on April 22 and 23 in the forested areas of Kasansur in Bhamragad taluka of Gadchiroli district. After the encounter, the central committee of the banned Maoist organisation, CPI(Maoists), chnged its leadership. Ganpat who was leading the commiittee, was replaced by Basavraju.
