Sensex falls by 381.62 pts during week

The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) slipped by 132.55 points or 1.22 per cent at 10,727.35

Mumbai, Jan 5: The benchmark index of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) tumbled down by 381.62 points or 1.06 per cent to settle at 35,695.10  in the week ended Friday on weak global cues.

The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) slipped by 132.55 points or 1.22 per cent at 10,727.35.

Global stocks dropped after a revenue guidance cut from Apple added to fears of a slowdown in global economic growth.      
Domestic investors were also cautious before corporate results begin to roll in next week.  

The BSE Mid-Cap index fell 212.61 points or 1.38 per cent to settle at 15,147.60. The BSE Small-Cap index fell 13.28 points or 0.09 pc to settle at 14,592.41.

Trading for the week began on a negative note. The barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, fell 8.39 points at 36,068.33.  
On Tuesday, the Sensex gained by 186.24 points at 36,254.57. The Nifty 50 index rose 47.55 points at 10,910.10 on late buying demand in index pivotals.

On Wednesday, it further lost by 117.60 points at 10,792.50. The Sensex settled below the psychological 36,000 mark. Negative global stocks weighed on the domestic bourses.      
 
It further lost ground by 377.81 points to 35,513.71 led by profit selling in index pivotals. Global stocks dropped after a revenue guidance cut from Apple added to fears of a slowdown in global economic growth.  

On Friday, the BSE Sensex, rose 181.39 points at 35,695.10. The Nifty 50 index rose 55.10 points at 10,727.35.
