‘Marriage at crematorium’: Amritsar’s village witnesses wedding at cremation ground, watch

Normally people visit a crematorium when somebody passes away but the people of Amritsar on Wednesday enjoyed a marriage procession at a crematorium. In a strange development, the Mokhampura area of Amritsar witnessed a marriage that took place in a cremation ground.

Reportedly, on Tuesday a marriage took place inside a cremation ground of Joda Phatak to Billa Wala Chowk Mohkampura. As per the information, the bride belongs to a very poor family and her family did not even have enough money to book a palace so, they had to organize the wedding at a crematorium.

The bride does not have parents and she used to live with her grandparents. Reportedly, her grandfather passed away sometime back after which she was left alone with her grandmother. As their family had been living in the village for a very long time and because of which the locals helped the girl to get married. Being poor, bride’s grandmother did not have money to get her niece married. So, local residents collected money for the wedding and somehow managed to get her married at a crematorium.

Earlier people from outside the village made fun of them for taking such a step. The groom later agreed to get married in whatever situation was possible and marriage turned out to be a happy procession.
