True Scoop News tried to reverse the image search and found out that real-life Maxton Hall is Marienburg Castle located in Hannover, Germany. To be precise, the Amazon Prime Video series has been shot in Marienburg Castle. Marienburg Castle has been portrayed as Maxton Hall in the series starring Harriet Herbig-Matten, Damian Hardung, etc.

Where is real-life Maxton Hall?

As per the information available, Marienburg Castle i.e. reel-life Maxton Hall is located 15 km northwest of Hildesheim, and around 30 kilometres south of Hannover, in the municipality of Pattensen, Hannover (Germany). Marienburg Castle was also a summer residence of the House of Welf whose flag (in the colours of yellow and white) flies on the main tower.

Talking about Maxton Hall's history, the castle was originally built between 1858 and 1867 as a birthday present by King George V of Hanover to his wife, Marie of Saxe-Altenburg. Between 1714 and 1837 there had been virtually no royal court in Hannover as the House of Hannover had ruled the kingdoms of Hannover and Britain by personal union, and so the Castle was also built to serve as a suitable summer seat for the House of Hannover in Germany.
