“May the spirit of hope and wellness prevail”, PM Modi greets nation with his New Year wishes

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to his Twitter handle to extend New Year wishes to the people of the nation.

President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation on the first day of the new year 2021 on Friday and expressed hope that the nation would move forward with fresh energy and work together to obtain the common goal for the nation’s progress. 

"May the spirit of hope and wellness prevail," wished PM Modi on Twitter.

 

The prime minister tweeted, "Wishing you a happy 2021! May this year bring good health, joy and prosperity. May the spirit of hope and wellness prevail.”

President Kovind also expressed his thoughts saying New Year gives us fresh opportunities and provides a chance for individual development.

 

"Happy New Year everyone! New Year provides an opportunity to make a fresh beginning and resolve for individual and collective development. Challenges arising out of COVID-19 situation strengthen our determination to move forward unitedly," President Kovind tweeted.

On Thursday, President Kovind and PM Modi had a meeting where they discussed domestic and international affairs and also exchanged good wishes for the upcoming year.

President Secretariat tweeted, "As the year 2020 draws to its end, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called on President Ram Nath Kovind and briefed him on domestic and international affairs. They exchanged good wishes for the year 2021 which promises a brighter future for the people of India.”

Earlier, PM Modi had said that on 1st day of 2021 he will be trending a programme which is endeavoured at transforming India's urban landscape, by laying the foundation stones for model housing projects in six cities called the Light House Projects. These projects will be built at Indore, Rajkot, Chennai, Ranchi, Agartala and Lucknow, comprising about 1,000 houses at each location along with allied infrastructure facilities.
