In what is being called an 'irony', #MeToo accused veteran actor Alok Nath is all set to feature in a movie which condemns child molestation and sexual abuse and is said to be based upon #MeToo movement of Bollywood.
TV producer-writer Vinta Nanda had accused the veteran actor in 2018 of raping her twice 20 years ago during the shoot of her TV show Tara. Himani Shivpuri and Sandhya Mridul also joined Vinta Nanda in the accusations on Alok Nath which were denied by the veteran actor.
The film is being directed by Nasir Khan and has been shot in Bhopal featuring Khalid Siddiqui, Mukesh Khanna, Shawar Ali, Shahbaz Khan, Imran Khan and Sonali Raut.
“The film deals with child molestation, a subject that hasn’t been tapped on screen often, particularly with regard to boys. My character, along with the other, are affected by incidents that change our lives. We hope the film starts a debate on the subject.” said Siddiqui.
“I’m not doing any films at the moment. This was something I shot for a while ago. Is there a problem? You sound sad that I’m doing a film. It a puny role for poor producers, let it release.” said Alok Nath on being asked about featuring in the movie.
