Adorable Bagel, 10, has a medical condition that meant she was born with no eyelids. Therefore, in order to protect her eyes, devoted owner Karen, from California, has spent more than £5,000 on sunglasses for her. Bagel's owner to save her cat's eyes ended up in a unique stock of at least 100 pairs, and has even showcased them on Fashion Week runways. Karen and Bagel also travel far and wide together, going on road trips all over the US and flying in planes together – they’ve been going on adventures since Bagel was just a kitten.
Metro UK quoted Karen who said, "Her sunglasses are medically necessary since she was born without eyelids, however, she has a huge collection of other sunglasses that she wears for fun.," adding that Bagel is such a unique cat and very gentle with most other animals. I can’t help myself from taking photos and videos of her. "She’s been to New York Fashion Week twice and walked LA Fashion Week three times. Paris is definitely on the cards next."
The portal further quoted her saying that ‘People cannot believe that she wears such long gowns and that she’s been in fashion week. They think it’s really cool and always ask how she’s so chill.’ Ultimately, Karen hopes that her photos of Bagel looking every bit the fashionista will help show the world that cats deserve the same level of love that dogs get. ‘I’m hoping one day that we can break the mould and have cats like Bagel represented on store shelves.’
