Meet Jayanti Chauhan: Bisleri's Vice Chairperson who turned down to take over as chief of 7000 crore firm

The Octogenarian businessman Ramesh Chauhan once brought the global beverage giant Coco-Cola to the table to sell off the major brands Thums Up, Mazaa, Gold Spot, and Limca which he build through persistent grit and hard work over the years has yet again cracked a new deal for his 7000 crore firm Bisleri with conglomerates giant Tata.

But, what made him get down to this deal that will see the sale of a profitable firm? The answer to this question can well be found in Jayanti Chauhan, Company’s owner Ramesh Chauhan’s daughter and Vice Chairperson.

Who is Jayanti Chauhan and why did she opt to turn down taking over as the firm’s chief, a brief look at her:

Jayanti Chauhan who currently holds the post of Vice Chairperson Bisleri International spent most of her childhood in Delhi, Mumbai, and New York City. After graduating from high school, Ms. Chauhan enrolled in the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM), Los Angeles, to study product development. She later moved to Istituto Marangoni Milano to study fashion styling.

Based, on the official site of the company she is famous by the name of JRC. Her journey with Bisleri began when she was 24 years under the guidance of her father and the company’s chief.

About Jayanti Chauhan, the website further states, "She took charge of the Delhi office, where she started off at grass root level, and also took up the challenge of renovating the factory and bringing about automation of various processes. Ms. Chauhan has also restructured departments such as HR, Sales and Marketing, so as to build stronger teams. She took charge of the Mumbai office in 2011.”

Ms. Chauhan is involved in the smooth running of the company’s operation which includes Bisleri Mineral Water, Vedica Natural Mineral Water from the Himalayas, Fizzy Fruit Drinks, and Bisleri Hand Purifier. Besides, she is also actively involved in advertising and communication development at Bisleri.

The company’s website details further on her, "She has been spearheading the Sales and Marketing teams, ensuring both market penetration and building brand value. She has been the driving force behind Bisleri's new brand image and growing portfolio.”

Reportedly, on the matter of taking charge as the company’s new chief, Jayanti, 37 has shown no interest in Bisleri’s business, owing to which the 82-years-old has decided not even to hold even minority share in the business and has showcased his intention in using that money to invest in charity and establishing purification plants.
