For the past few days, there were reports that Messi the dog won't be allowed to attend the Oscars 2024, however, all the reports were proved wrong. Comedian & Oscar 2024 host Jimmy Kimmel specially mentioned Messi in his opening act.
For the unversed, Hollywood Reporter stated that multiple companies with nominated films whined to the Academy about his presence at the bash apparently giving Anatomy of a Fall a dog-shaped chess piece to wield during the height of voting season. As soon as Messi was shown on the screen inside the Oscar ceremony, fans went gaga on social media.
