The people of the United States of America (USA) have been witnessing multiple 'strange' phenomena. Be it Chinese spy balloon or Meteorite or even UFOs, Americans have been left puzzled with the administration tight-lipped on many occasions. On Friday night, another 'weird' phenomena left the USA puzzled with Americans sharing the video and asking what exactly they witnessed in the sky of Northern California. To be precise, a 'Weird meteor-like formation' was witnessed in Northern California on Friday night. Northern California meteor-like formation video is now going viral on social media and there are multiple conspiracy theories are revolving around it. However, Jonathan McDowell, an astronomer and astrophysicist at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics have explained what Americans witnessed in Northern California.

Jonathan McDowell, an astronomer and astrophysicist at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics took to his Twitter handle and wrote, "This is ICS-EF, a Japanese communications package for sending data between the ISS Kibo module and Mission Control Tsukuba via the Kodama data relay satellite. It was launched to the ISS on the Space Shuttle in 2009 and had a mass of 310 kg...

The ICS-EF package was installed in one of the "EFU" bays on the Kibo Exposed Facility, as shown here....As I tweeted at the time, the Canadarm-2 robot arm grabbed the now-obsolete package and jettisoned it into orbit on 2020 Feb 21..The ICS-F was cataloged as object 45265, 1998-067RJ. It orbited the Earth as space junk for 3 years, and reentered at 0430 UTC (9.30pm PDT) over California, widely observed from the Sacramento area....It probably almost completely burnt up during reentry, but any small surviving debris may have, at a guess, reached the Yosemite area...Sorry for typo: ICS-EF, not ICS-F...The ICS-EF abbreviation stands for Inter-orbit Communications System - Exposed Facility. When in use (2009-2020) it relayed its data to an internal computer called the ICS-PM (ICS Pressurized Module), hence the -EF distinction in the abbreviation..."
