Bangkok-bound German airline Lufthansa on Wednesday was forced to divert and land at the New Delhi airport due to a mid-air fight between a husband and her wife. As per reports, the Lufthansa flight decided to land in New Delhi and offload the passengers behaving unruly after a cabin crew reported disruptive conduct on board, specifically a dispute between a husband and wife.

Aviation security of Delhi airport was quoted saying, "The reason for the fight between husband and wife is not known but the flight had to be diverted due to the fight between husband and wife." It is pertinent to mention here that the Lufthansa flight initially sought permission to land at Pakistan’s nearly airport, but for undisclosed reasons, that request was denied.

As per Lufthansa, there was one "unruly passenger" of German nationality. He has been offloaded and he has apologized."Decision whether to hand over to enforcement agencies in India or to consider the apology and return him to Germany still pending," a DGCA official was quoted saying by a newswire. A report suggests that Indian Security personnel are likely to contact German Embassy over the issue.
