PUNBUS, PRTC and Roadways buses will not be seen on the roads in Punjab today. For three days from today, all the contract workers of Roadways, PUNBUS and PRTC Union have gone on strike due to the non-fulfillment of their demands.

After this, Punjab's Transport Minister Laaljit Singh Bhullar appealed to all the employees to stop the strike and resume bus services. He said that the whole country is celebrating independence, the land of Punjab has seen the martyrdom of lakhs of Bravehearts, and this is the time to pay homage to those martyrs, to take inspiration from them.

He appealed to the transport workers that it is not appropriate to go on strike at such a time, we all have to move forward together, we are all one.

It is time to pay true homage to the martyrs of Punjab and it is time to stand shoulder to shoulder said the minister.

However, even after the minister's appeal, there is no response from the side of the bus operators.

The contract staff has stopped accepting advance bookings as of yesterday because of the strike, which is bad news for passengers who ride on luxury buses operated by Punbus and Roadbed. Buses that travel to and from the airport in Delhi will also be shut down for three days. Foreign visitors visiting Punjab will also need to travel in their own private vehicles or exclusive, pricey luxury buses.
