The grand annual event to crown the coveted title of Miss Universe is around the corner. The beauty Pageant continues to celebrate women around the world who extend their advocacy to work for humanitarian causes as contestants representing their respective countries who compete for the Miss Universe title.
The Miss Universe Organization is owned by JKN Global Group, a Thai conglomerate company whose business holdings range from beverages to cosmetics. Telemundo has the licensing rights to air the pageant through 2023.
Harnaaz Sandhu from India is the current holder of the crown after winning the prestigious recognition on December 13th, 2021. The event for crowning the best from all participating at the Miss Universe Pageant will take place on Saturday, January 14th, 2023.

This year, the pageant will be broadcasted on NBC as the show’s official worldwide broadcaster. Earlier, FOX was the show’s official broadcaster.
In addition, it marks the first time that the Miss Universe pageant has been broadcast on television by JKN Global Group’s JKN18 and JKN-CNBC, the organization’s expanded headquarters in Thailand.
Viewers in India can watch the grand event online at the JKN18 channel's official Facebook and YouTube channels, besides streaming it on VIACOM 18-owned OTT platform Voot.

Who is Divita Rai? Miss Diva Universe representing India at Miss Universe 2023
This year the event is taking place in New Orleans, Louisiana. Former Miss Universe Olivia Culpo and “The Real” TV celebrity Jeannie Mai Jenkins will be seen as the hosts following the great actor-comedian stint ending after five years.
Contestants to watch out for:
Among the participants, Miss Ukraine is sitting as a hot topic of discussion and has already unveiled her look for the competition. She took to Instagram to write to say that the Warrior of Light costume “symbolizes our nation’s fight against darkness. Like Archangel Michael, who defends Ukraine with a sword, it protects us.” With Ukraine still at war with Russia, the country is the topic of a global conversation.
Miss USA, R’Bonney Gabriel of Texas, is also heating huge discussions over her contesting, she is the 10th Miss USA from Texas. At this year’s event, India will be represented by Divita Rai, who was crowned Miss Diva Universe 2022 by current Miss Universe holder Harnaaz Sandhu.
Divita, a 25-year-old architect, and model was born in Mangalore, Karnataka, and currently lives in Mumbai. If she manages to win it for India this will be the fourth title for India at the grand pageant after Sushmita Sen (1994), Lara Dutta (2000), and Harnaaz Sandhu (2021).
