Sidharth Malhotra is all set to be back on the OTT screen with his movie Mission Majnu after his film Shershaah received great appreciation and was one of the biggest hits of all time. Directed by Shantanu Bagchi the movie is a spy thriller that stars Sidharth Malhotra and Rashmika Mandana in the lead. Although the movie was postponed several times but now the makers have officially announced the release date of Mission Majnu.
Mission Majnu is said to explore the events that transformed the politics between India and its neighboring nation in the 1970s. Sidharth Malhotra and Rashmika Mandana starrer Mission Majnu will be releasing on 20th January 2023 exclusively on Netflix. The movie also casts Kumud Mishra, Mir Sarwar, Parmeet Sethi, Sharib Hashmi and Zakir Hussain in pivot roles.
The trailer begins with an official pleading to the Prime Minister of the country to locate a nuclear site in Pakistan. Parmeet Sethi further in the trailer advises to acquire information about the same using a covert operative. The trailer then sees entry of Sidharth Malhotra who is an undercover agent. He travels to various locations to provide vital information to the officials of India. Rashmika Mandana is seen playing the wife of Sidharth Malhotra.
Talking about the storyline, the director reveals that Mission Majnu is based on a true story and will take the audience back in time to portray one of the most important missions of India. The story will keep the audiences on edge of their seat as one wrong move might destroy the full-fledged mission. He said, “Mission Majnu is the secret tale of India's most successful clandestine operation.”
