A man in Moga, Punjab killed his wife as he was enraged after she posted a reel involving him on Instragram. Husband Harmesh did not like his wife Sarabjit Kaur posting his videos on social media. The two frequently used to fight each other over this matter. The matter reached such an extent that the husband was compelled to brutally attack his wife with the intent to kill.
Giving information to the police, their neighbor, Lakhbir Singh informs that Sarbjit Kaur and Harmesh Singh frequently quarreled with each other. He lives in a house behind the deceased’s residence and would often hear loud shouting matches and hostile exchanges between the two. He informs that he could hear screaming coming from the house at around 4-5 AM on January 6. Thinking it to be another domestic spat, he ignored it at went to his work. Upon returning he found that the main gate of the house was open and Sarbjit was on the floor bleeding from her head, eyes and hands. Her husband had attacked her with a iron kapa. He raised the alarm after which concerned neighbours and himself admitted Sarbjit to the hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
According to reports, this dispute had escalated as seeing their prior arguments, the panchayat had decided the wife would live separately from the husband. She was set to leave the house on the same day that her husband decided to fatally attack her with the sharp weapon. She was left suffering in the verandah of the house soaked in blood.
The deceased was admitted to the hospital by Lakhbir Singh and other concerned neighbours on January 6. She succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment at the medical facility. After her death, the police arrested the husband, Hamesh Singh on murder charges.
