Mohali Police encounter: Notorious car thieves and the CIA caught in a crossfire; two arrested

A police encounter took place in Mohali, Punjab on Saturday. The shootout occurred on the Landran road between the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) officers and 2 individuals in a stolen car. DGP Gaurav Yadav The arrested criminals have been identified as Prince and Karanjeet. Prince, who is a resident of Patiala, was hit by two bullets, while Karanjeet was hit by a single bullet. Many cases of extortion and robbery are registered against these individuals. DGP Gaurav Yadav posted about the incident on X, formerly known as twitter.

Initially, the police had received information about Prince, after which they imposed a blockade. Prince broke the baricade and started escaping. When the police tried to stop him by placing their vehicle in front of his car, he opened fire. The police car’s windshield was broken broken by the bullet.

Mohali SSP Sandeep Garg, who reached the spot, said that the 2 individuals had looted a Swift Dzire and a Thar from a woman a few days ago in Mohali. Later they held a person at gunpoint and also snatched the car from him at a Barista restaurant. Fortunately, the person ran away.

The police had received information that some more accused may be connected to these cases and that they are currently roaming in the area. Then a suspicious vehicle was found there. The police surrounded the car. Paramveer, a.k.a. Prince, and Karanjit, of Kurukshetra, were in it who the police tried to stop with their own car.

The police fired warning shots in the air, but they did not stop, after which both of them were shot in the leg in the cross firing. The accused have confessed to the robbery. They had made 3 ransom calls. The car recovered from them was looted by them on November 28.

Police said that the arrested were forming their own gang. 7-8 crimes have come to light. More incidents are expected to be revealed during investigation. They may have accomplices as well. Both have been admitted to the hospital for treatment. At present they are out of danger. 4 shots were fired by the accused and about 6 by the police. Police personnel were not injured. Two weapons have been found from them.

On November 28 in Mohali, he had snatched the car from taxi driver Jitendra Singh at gunpoint from Landra Road. The driver then accused Rajasthan's Gogamedi murder case accused Nitin Fauji, although the DSP said that these two accused had snatched the car.
