Mokshada Ekadashi December 2022: Timing, do’s and don’ts, everything you must know while observing fast

This year Mokshada Ekadashi is falling on 3rd and 4th of December 2022.

Mokshada Ekadashi is observed on the Shukla Paksha in the month of Margashirsha based on the Hindu calendar. According to the Hindu holy book, Mokshada Ekadashi brings salvation to the ancestors and people observe fast on this day. According to the beliefs, people who observe fast on Ekadashi get blessed by Lord Vishnu and all their wishes are fulfilled. This year Mokshada Ekadashi is falling on 3rd and 4th of December 2022. The timing will start from 5:30 am on 3rd December to 5:34 am on 4th December 2022.

Here are some of the do’s and don’ts to keep in mind while observing the Ekadashi fast

Firstly, Pooja should be carried out by people observing fast by following a proper vidhi or process. People after doing breakfast in the morning can keep on eating light snacks during the fast. Lastly, people keeping fast should break it the other day by following a proper process. Chanting mantras of Lord Krishna should be done the whole day.

Things that should be kept in mind during Ekadashi are that Tulsi leaves to be offered to Lord Vishnu should be plucked a day before and not during Ekadashi also no item made up of rice should be consumed during fasting. Intake of non-vegetarian food and alcohol should be prohibited in the house during Ekadashi no matter if members have kept fast or not.
