An animal has caused panic in China. A video has gone viral on social media in which a wild monkey attacked and tried to abduct a three-year-old girl. The girl was also injured in the incident.
The girl, who was rescued by a neighbour on Wednesday afternoon, April 20, was seen playing on a scooter outside the house when the monkey suddenly pushed her to the ground, dragged her and took her away. Fortunately, a villager in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality noticed this and ran to rescue the baby from the monkey.
The girl's mother, Liu, said she was cooking and suddenly found out that a monkey tried to run away with her daughter. Her neighbours informed her about the incident. She said there were some bruises on the girl's face after the incident.
Police confirmed that she had been taken to a hospital for a full investigation and vaccination. According to villagers, the same ferocious monkey has been harassing the elderly since they entered the area last May.
