Moosewala’s father Balkaur Singh joins Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra in Jalandhar, watch

Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, former CM Charanjit Singh Channi and MLA Pargat Singh were also present during the Bharat Jodo yatra in Jalandhar.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra in Jalandhar commenced at 3 pm on Sunday. The yatra was resumed after Rahul Gandhi attended MP Santokh Singh Chaudhary’s cremation in Dhaliwal.

During the yatra famous Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala’s father also joined Rahul Gandhi from Khalsa College. Punjab Congress President Amarinder Singh Raja Warring made him meet Rahul Gandhi. Apart from Balkaur Singh, Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, former CM Charanjit Singh Channi and MLA Pargat Singh were also present during the Bharat Jodo yatra in Jalandhar.

After some time Balkaur Singh left the yatra and returned back as revealed that he had just undergone surgery. He thanked the crown and stated that it was just because of the people of Punjab that he was able to bear the loss of his son. For the unversed, In 2021Sidhu Moosewala joined the Indian National Congress and contested the 2022 Punjab Legislative Assembly election from Mansa.

Rahul Gandhi before commencing his yatra, first sought blessing at Shri Devi Talab Mandi at around 2 pm, after which he reached Khalsa College where he was scheduled to hold a press but it got cancelled. Reportedly the press conference will now be conducted at Hoshiarpur.

The yatra was put on hold by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi after Jalandhar MP Santokh Singh Chaudhary passed away after suffering a heart attack during the Bharat Jodo Yatra.

As per the schedule, the yatra will start from Garaon Kala Bakra near Avtar Regency at 6 am on January 16 and will be resumed from Kharal Kalan village of Adampur at 3.30 pm. On January 17, it will start from Jhingar Khurd in Dasua and will proceed from Gonspur at 3.30 pm. On the seventh day, the yatra will start from Mukerian Bhangala and enter Himachal Pradesh. January 19, 2023, will be the last day of the Bharat Jodo Yatra in Punjab. Rahul Gandhi will address a rally in Pathankot at 12 noon. There can be changes in this schedule due to the halt that was declared after MP Santokh Singh’s demise.
