In view of the extreme heat weather conditions, the Jalandhar District Administration has taken a significant initiative to provide voters with information about the lines at polling booths from the comfort of their homes.

District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal stated that the district administration has deployed election volunteers at all 1951 polling booths, who will update the information about the queues at the polling booths at every 15 minutes on votejalandhar.in.

He mentioned that this website was developed jointly by the district administration and computer science department of N.I.T. Jalandhar.

He explained that the main objective of this website is to save people's time so they do not have to wait long to vote. He added that Jalandhar voters can visit this website, enter their constituency and polling booth number, and get the latest information about the queue at their polling station.

Furthermore, he mentioned that the Election Commission has issued the Voter Queue Information System to provide information to people about the number of people standing in line at their polling booth before going to vote on June 1.

To use this system, voters need to send a message by typing 'Vote' on WhatsApp number 7447447217. They will then receive a link which, when clicked, will show two options on the screen: (1) Location-wise (2) Booth-wise. He said that while all arrangements are being made to protect voters from the heat on the voting day of June 1, the Voter Queue System will allow voters to vote when the booth is less crowded, keeping them from the heat and saving their precious time.
