IPL 2022 Schedule: Mumbai and Pune to host the league phase

The crowds in the stadium will be allowed as per the policy of the Maharashtra government.

IPL 2022 will begin on March 26 with the final set to be played on May 29. The league phase of the IPL will be staged in Maharashtra, with 55 games in Mumbai and 15 in Pune.

Four venues - the Wankhede Stadium and Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai, the DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai, and the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Gahunje, in the outskirts of Pune - will host the league phase featuring 70 matches.

And, all teams are set to play four games each at the Wankhede, DY Patil Stadium and three apiece at Brabourne and Pune.

According to sources, the crowds in the stadium will be allowed as per the policy of the Maharashtra government. Whether it will be 25 or 50 percent of the stadium capacity will be decided by the government.


The board has also identified four grounds for practice. The teams will be allotted times for practice at the BKC ground in Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai, Brabourne Stadium in South Mumbai, DY Patil ground in Navi Mumbai and either MCA Ground in Kandivali or in Thane.
