In a massive development, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) received an email from an unnamed person posing as "member of the Taliban" threatening to carry out a terrorist attack in Mumbai. As soon as the NIA received the terror threat email, multiple cities of Maharashtra were put on high alert and the Mumbai Police have been told about the same by the Central agencies. Mumbai Police was quoted by multiple portals saying, "The person who sent the threat mail described himself to be a Talibani. He said that there would be a terror attack in Mumbai." While security has been tightened in the state, the NIA along with Mumbai police have also launched a joint investigation to find the truth behind the mail. Notably, the Dhirubhai Ambani International School in Mumbai got a threat call wherein an unidentified caller threatened to blow up the school. More developments in the case will be updated soon by True Scoop News.

Although the involvement of Taliban is yet to be proved and identified by security officials, Pakistan's Peshawar was recently jolted in a suicide bomb attack. In the Peshawar attack, Pakistan had accused the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan of the terror attack, however, the organization denied it. Notably, a commander for TTP, Sarbakaf Mohmand earlier took responsibility for the bombing, claiming it was revenge for his brother killed in Afghanistan last year. But hours later, TTP spokesperson Mohammad Khurasani distanced the group from the attack, saying that it was not its policy to target mosques, seminaries and religious places. The spokesperson, however, did not address the previous claim of responsibility. “Tehreek-e-Taliban has nothing to do with this attack,” a TTP statement said.
