Amidst increasing suspicion on Mumbai Police of trying to save Rhea Chakraborty and a prominent political leader from the case of Sushant Singh Rajput, Bihar Government on Tuesday recommended for CBI Inquiry. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday recommended a CBI investigation into the death of deceased actor Sushant Singh Rajput after speaking to his father KK Singh. The minister said that the Bihar government will ask for a CBI inquiry into the matter. It is also reported that Sushant's father and his family no longer want the police to investigate the case and want the CBI to investigate the case instead.

However, Rhea Chakraborty who herself asked for CBI Inquiry from Union Home Minister Amit Shah has taken a u-turn. Rhea's lawyer Satish Maneshinde termed the transfer of Sushant's case to CBI by Bihar Government 'illegal'. In his official statement, Rhea's lawyer said, "There can't be transfer of a case which had no legal basis for Bihar to get involved. At most, it would be a 'Zero FIR' transferable to Mumbai Police. Transfer of a case,on which they had no jurisdiction, to CBI has no legal sanctity."

Now, Sushant Singh Rajput's father KK Singh's lawyer Vikas Singh has responded to it. In an interview, Vikas said, "I don't think any state govt would have quarantined an enforcement officer. Quarantining of a police officer clearly means they want to disable or obstruct the investigation by Patna police."

"Basically, the Mumbai Police is buying time to ensure that the evidence gets destroyed. So we decided that this matter should be given to CBI and Nitish Kumar had earlier promised that if the father wants a CBI probe, it will be handed it over to CBI," he added.

Notably, on August 5, the Supreme Court will give its judgment who will handle Sushant  Singh Rajput's case.
