Mumbai shocker: Woman dies after elevator collapses in Charkop; Video Viral

The Mumbai elevator accident took place in the multi-story building in Charkop area on October 21 when the woman was going down from the fourth floor for a morning walk.

In an absolute shocker, a 62-year-old woman on Wednesday lost her life after being stuck in an elevator which collapsed in a residential building in Mumbai. The Mumbai elevator accident took place in the multi-story building in Charkop area on October 21 when the woman was going down from the fourth floor for a morning walk. As pe reports, when the woman entered the elevator she got stuck between fourth and third floors. Furthermore, the woman shouted for help and when her son tried to open the elevator door, he got an electric shock and switched off the power supply.

Following that a security guard of the building tried to open the door of the elevator, however, it moved down on a high speed and collapsed on the ground floor. After the accident, the woman received serious injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital where she was declare brought dead. The Charkop police later registered an Accidental Death Report.

Now, the Mumbai Charkop elevator video is doing rounds on social media which shows the dismal condition of the lift in which the woman died. User named sachindra p took to his Twitter handle and wrote, "My mother, a 62 year old woman lost her life while using the residential building’s lift at Charkop area of Kandivali West on 21st October’22. The lift had a free-fall from the 4th floor to the ground."

Seeing the video, a user wrote, "And on top of it Police and PWD personnel are not taking this situation seriously and till now they had not taken any step towards this.. Its my humble request that please take this matter seriously bcoz of which we Lost our beloved."

Another user wrote, "@MumbaiPolice @CMOMaharashtra @CPMumbaiPolice Action needs to be taken on this. I will request Cm and Mumbai commissioner to take some serious action. Because of lift issue he has lost his mother. RIP"

"This is a very serious fault on the part of the responsible persons of the society. All the persons, concerned, should be held guilty and punished immediately so that other societies may take a serious note on it," added another user.
