Narendra Modi's oath-taking ceremony date, time & guest lists revealed; Know who are invited

Narendra Modi's oath-taking ceremony date and time on Friday was announced during NDA's parliamentary party meeting at the Central Hall of the old Parliament building. The curtains around PM-elect Narendra Modi's oath-taking ceremony were being held by the BJP leaders as negotiations were going on with the NDA allies like TDP and JDU. While Bihar CM Nitish Kumar had advised PM Modi to form the government as soon as possible by saying 'Jaldi Kariye', BJP senior leader Prahlad Joshi during the NDA's parliamentary meeting announced PM Modi's oath taking time and date. 

When will PM Modi take oath?

Addressing the NDA parliamentary party meeting at the Central Hall of the old Parliament building, Joshi said the oath-taking ceremony is scheduled for 6 pm on June 9. Senior alliance leaders, including Chief Ministers and NDA MPs, attended the meeting. BJP president J P Nadda is expected to propose a resolution supporting Modi's leadership, which allies and MPs are likely to endorse.  The NDA, with 293 MPs, comfortably exceeds the majority mark of 272 in the 543-member Lok Sabha.

Notably, this is going to be Narendra Modi’s third term as India’s Prime Minister, which is itself a big record. Jawaharlal Nehru was the only leader to hold the PM's office for consecutive three terms. 

Notably, for Narendra Modi's oath talking ceremony, multiple guests have been invited. Apart from political leaders, both from the treasury benches and the opposition, there is going to be a significant presence of people from the film fraternity, sports fraternity, top industrialists, and businessmen among others.

Talking about Narendra Modi's oath taking ceremony guests' list,  the PM-elect has sent special invite to beneficiaries of the Central government schemes. A few transgenders have also been invited. Reports further suggest that an invitation has been sent to labourers who have worked on the Central Vista project that includes the building of the new Parliament. An invitation has also been sent to safai karamcharis or sanitation workers. As the strong ambassadors of building a strong India, there has also been an invitation sent to people who have worked in the railways on key projects like Vande Bharat trains and the Metro project. 

For his oath-taking ceremony, PM Modi has reportedly invited representatives of the neighboring countries including Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, and Mauritius. The caretaker PM has already invited Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe for his oath-taking ceremony. He congratulated Narendra Modi on the BJP-led NDA's electoral victory over a phone call.
