National Level Boxer from Sangrur dies of drug overdose

As per reports, the boxer, Kulveer was the only son of a poor family however was trapped in bad company

In tragic news, a national-level boxer, Kulveer Singh (22) died of a drug overdose in Sangrur, the constituency of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann. The boxer fell victim to a substance addiction and used to consume ‘chitta’. The boxer’s family lamented the menace of drugs in Punjab, and are aggrieved at the loss.

 

As per reports, the boxer, Kulveer was the only son of a poor family however was trapped in bad company. As a result, he started consuming drugs (chitta) and developed a habit. He reprotedly used to bring Chitta from a colony in Sunam.

 

Seeing him lying unconscious at home, his family immediately took him to the hospital. Where the doctors declared him dead. Malkit Kaur, mother of deceased Kulveer, said that her son often bought chitta from the Sabra gang. He complained to the police several times but the police never took any strict action. Malkit said that her son Kulveer has also won medals at the national level.

 

According to his family, Kulveer fell into bad company and became addicted to drugs. Despite the police being aware of this, no action was taken. They say that their son has lost his life due to drug addiction, but he will not let other youth lose their lives. They say that something should be done about it as menace of drugs in the area seems to show no signs of stopping.
