Two days after resigning and showing his firm commitment towards not compromising on Punjab's future, Navjot Sidhu finally decided to discuss his issues with Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi.

Navjot Sidhu took to twitter today to inform that Punjab CM Channi had earlier invited him for talks after he resigned, therefore, he will meet CM Channi at 3pm in Chandigarh.

"Chief Minister has invited me for talks...will reciprocate by reaching Punjab Bhawan, Chandigarh at 3:00 PM today; he is welcome for any discussions!" Navjot Singh Sidhu said in a tweet.

Earlier, Navjot Sidhu in a letter to party President Sonia Gandhi, wrote, "The collapse of a man's character stems from the compromise corner, I can never compromise on Punjab's future and the agenda for the welfare of Punjab."

"Therefore, I hereby resign as the President of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee. Will continue to serve the Congress," he added.

It was learnt that Sidhu was upset over the non-inclusion of the MLAs of his choice in the expanded Cabinet and the appointment of new Advocate General, A.P.S. Deol and DGP Iqbad Sahota.

Sources say in the meeting with Punjab CM, Navjot Sidhu will strongly oppose DGP, AG appointments.

Meanwhile, Sidhu’s close aide and advisor, Mohammad Mustafa, said, “Navjot Singh Sidhu will remain the president of Punjab Congress and lead the party in upcoming elections. There are small issues which will be resolved soon”.

He said "The Congress leadership is mindful of Navjot Sidhu's abilities, and Sidhu is not beyond Congress leadership. He is not Amarinder Singh, who has shown little interest in the Congress or its leadership”
