Unknown assailants shot and killed a youth in Nawanshahr on Monday. The youth identified as Makhan Kanga (30) received fifteen bullets and died on the spot.
According to the information, the youth was getting fuel in a petrol pump located on the way to Phillaur through the roads of Nawanshahr, when the attackers came there. They fired bullets at Kanga and fled from the spot after carrying out the incident within minutes. It has been learned that the attackers had covered their faces.
Makhan is survived by his wife, mother, father and two small kids, a son and a daughter.
According to Police, today, when he was returning back after milking his cattle, he stopped at the Ganga petrol pump to refill the tank of his scooty. That time six unidentified assailants came out from their Safari car and started firing at him. He couldn’t survive the attack and died on the spot.
The police have seized the footage of the CCTV cameras installed in the pump and surrounding areas. Police are scrutinizing the footage and trying to trace the attackers.
