NCB Deputy Director KPS Malhotra who interrogated Deepika Padukone in drug case tests positive for COVID-19

KPS Malhotra is investigating drug angle in Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide case.

KPS Malhotra, Deputy Director of Narcotics Control Bureau who questioned Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone in association with Sushant Singh Rajput’s death has tested positive for  Coronavirus infection.

The Narcotics is investigating a drug angle in Sushant Singh’s death that happened in his Mumbai’s Bandra apartment in June 2020. A potential drug nexus that operates in Bollywood is also being examined. So far, Bollywood celebrities like Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan, Shraddha Kapoor and Rakul Preet Singh have been interrogated by the NCB and more suspects are yet to be summoned.    

According to the officials, no link has been found between drug peddler and Deepika, Shraddha and Sara, whereas Rakul has been given a clean chit.  All three actors have denied having any connection with drug peddlers and consuming drugs. According to NCB sources, the actors can be summoned again if any strong evidence is found against them.  

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) panel formulated to look into the autopsy report on the request of the Central Bureau of Investigation’s has submitted their report. The report rules out any murder angle and confirms that Rajput died by suicide.

"It is a case of hanging and death by suicide. We have submitted our conclusive report to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI)," Dr Gupta, who is also the chairman of the forensic medical board, said.

Rhea Chakraborty who is a prime suspect in Sushant’s case is in police custody.
