After working for more than 20 years in the prominent news channel NDTV, senior journalist and anchor Sarah Jacob on Tuesday announced that she is resigning from the channel. Sarah Jacob is among the many journalists who resigned from the channel after the Adani takeover. Sarah took to her Twitter handle and shared a long note in which she expressed her gratitude to Dr. Prannoy Roy and Radhika Roy for giving her the chance to express her journalism on their channel. Interestingly, Sarah Jacob in her resignation stated that NDTV 'was one of India's great institutions'. Following that many users started sharing videos of Sarah's last anchoring segment on NDTV in which she was presenting a video package praising PM Modi's 'respect for women'. As a result, a section of the media started circulating Sarah Jacob's video alleging that the senior journalist resigned after the company played pro-Modi video package.

It was on a bulletin hosted by Sarah that the video package hailing Modi was played out. Sarah Jocob was presenting the news which showcased PM Modi receiving a special welcome in Papua New Guinea with his counterpart James Marape touching his feet. In the video, a man along with a woman bowed in front of PM Modi with their heads touching the ground. PM Modi promptly reciprocated their gesture by bowing with folded hands. Notably, after the video package was aired by the channel with Jacob presenting it, she allegedly resigned from the company.

It is pertinent to mention here that numerous journalists associated with the channel have quit after the Adani takeover of the NDTV group. The first person to leave the NDTV group was Ravish Kumar. Following Ravish Kumar, Nidhi Razdan stepped down as Executive Editor. Three days before that, Group Editor Sreenivasan Jain had announced that he is quitting the channel after a nearly three-decade-long career. Apart from them, channel’s group president Suparna Singh, Chief Strategy Officer Arijit Chatterjee, along with Chief Technology and Product Officer Kawaljit Singh Bedi have also resigned from the company.
