Cyclone Fani NEET 2019 NEET Odisha

The nationwide destiny determiner for medical students – NEET scheduled on May 5, 2019 nationwide is postponed in the state of Odisha amidst the cyclone Fani.

Looks like all the hard work pitched in by students for the two years will go into vain following the adamant behavior of nature in the state. The cyclone took over its destructive angle on May 3. Medical aspirants haven- AIIMS cancelled the PG entrance exam again scheduled for May 5 in the state. The NTA (National Testing Agency) is expected to release the date after the suppression of Fani.

R. Subrahmanyam, the higher education secretary was quoted saying , “NEET exam scheduled for May 5 in Odisha has been postponed as per the request of state government working on relief and rehabilitation work in the wake of cyclone Fani. The revised dates of the exam in Odisha will be announced soon. Seven cities which are made the exam centers for year 2019 are Angul, Baleswar, Behrampur, Bhubaneshwar, Cuttack, Rourkela, Sambalpur.”  As per official figures, last year a total of 12,69,922 students appeared for admission to more than 95,000 seats. The cancellation of NEET 2019 exam for Odisha has brought a great relief for the candidates.

Controversies surrounding NEET 2019:

Many controversies have engulfed NEET 2019. Candidates are complaining that their admit cards show the wrong exam date. Others were found saying that their exam centers were misspelled as an exam centre in another state. To be noted, in case a student of Odisha, who is currently not in Odisha and has a center in another state, the exam will be conducted as per the schedule that is tomorrow. Candidates are advised to check the do and dont on the official site of NTA.
