In March, Melbourne witnessed a live Bollywood drama when Neha Kakkar arrived three hours late for a concert and broke down in tears as the audience booed her. She made headlines with pictures of her crying on the stage, which went viral online. Later, she alleged that the organizers fled with her money and failed to provide basic necessities, such as hotel accommodation, food, and water. Now once again, Neha Kakkar is getting boos and backlashing comments after the Australian organizers Pace D and Bikram Singh Randhawa denied the claims, stating Neha refused to perform for a crowd of just "700" attendees.
Slap back from organizers
In a conversation with Siddharth Kannan, Pace D, and Bikram Singh Randhawa revealed that Neha had two consecutive shows with the same company. Her Sydney performance, the first of the two, saw a turnout of 1,500–2,000 and went smoothly.
With just 700 people in the crowd, the second concert became the center of controversy the next day when the Melbourne concert started hours late. "The crowd was very angry at her because they had been waiting for hours." They added that attendees had paid around 300 AUD (roughly ₹16,000) for the show.
According to them, Neha refused to go on stage until more people were brought in. "What I got to know from the organizer was that she said that there are just 700 people, so until you fill up the stadium, I won't perform."
Responding to Neha's claims about the lack of a sound check and non-payment to the sound engineers, Pace D, and Bikram said, "There were opening acts there, and everyone performed, and all the setup was done. I don't think what she was saying is true."
Denying Neha’s allegations about no food, water, and accommodation, Pace D and Bikram stated that hotel arrangements were made and vehicles were waiting. "Where was she staying if there was no hotel? She was traveling in a G Wagon."
They further stated that it's a standard practice in Australia to clear an artist’s payment before their arrival in the country. "Even before the artiste flies to Australia, they are fully paid. 100 percent, she was paid in advance. This is something very basic in Australia."
They claimed that the poor turnout in Melbourne led to a financial loss of AUD 500,000 for the organizer and took it to Instagram. Captioned "Here are the expenses, and we are down $-530,000"
To clarify her stance after being slammed online, Neha Kakkar posted a lengthy note on Instagram, airing her concerns. She wrote, "Do you know that I performed for absolutely free for my Melbourne audience? The organizers ran away with my money and others too. My band was not even given food, hotel, and even water. Do you know our sound check got delayed by hours because the sound vendor was not paid, and he refused to put the sound on? And when, after so much delay, our sound check started, I could not reach the venue. We didn't even know if the concert was happening because the organizers stopped picking up my manager's calls."
