Prime MinisterNarendra Modi on Thursday congratulated everyone on the completion of oneyear of the New Education Policy and said even as Covid changed the entireeducation scenario, students adapted to online education easily. 

He addressed thenation via video conferencing in which he said, "Our youth have a newenthusiasm, they are ready for change. Covid changed the entire educationscenario but students have adapted to online education easily.”

He lauded the effortsof officials and stakeholders and said, "Even amid the pandemic, thepolicy is being implemented with help of suggestions of over lakhs of citizens,teachers, and autonomous bodies by deploying task force, in a phasedmanner."

The Prime Ministeralso took the opportunity to announce engineering courses in five regionallanguages. “I am glad that 14 engineering colleges in 8 states are going tostart its in 5 Indian languages - Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi and Bengali. Atool has also been developed for translation of engineering course into 11Indian languages,” he added.

"India's newNational Education Policy is one of the major factors in 'mahayagna' of nationbuilding," said PM Modi.

On Thursday, Modialso launched the National Digital Education Architecture (NDEAR) and NationalEducation Technology Forum (NETF). He launched multiple initiatives in theeducation sector, including the academic bank of credit that will providemultiple entries and exit options for students in higher education besidesfirst-year engineering programmes in regional languages and guidelines for internationalizationof higher education.

The list ofinitiatives launched today also includes Vidya Pravesh, a three-monthplay-based school preparation module for Grade 1 students, Indian sign languageas a subject at secondary level and NISHTHA 2.0, an integrated programme ofteacher training designed by the NCERT.
