Well-renowned Hollywood actor Johnny Depp has been removed from the Harry Potter spin-off series i.e. Fantastic Beasts by the Warner Brother Productions. Johnny took to Instagram and released his official statement. The famous Hollywood actor told his fans that he is going to resign from the Fantastic Beasts movie franchise after losing a libel case in Britain against a tabloid 'The Sun' that called him a "wife-beater".
In his official statement, Johnny wrote, "In light of recent events, I would like to make the following short statement. I wish to let you know that I have been asked to resign by Warner Bros. from my role as Grindelwald in Fantastic Beasts and I have respected and agreed to that request."
Warner Bros. too confirmed the removal of Johnny Depp and said the role of dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald will be recast.
After hearing testimony from Depp and ex-wife Amber Heard in the high-profile case, Justice Andrew Nicol said that the allegations against Depp were substantially true. Depp had sued News Group Newspapers, publisher of The Sun, and its executive editor, Dan Wootton, over an article accusing him of assaulting Heard.
Depp on this said, "The surreal judgment of the court in the UK will not change my fight, to tell the truth, and I confirm that I plan to appeal.y resolve remains strong and I intend to prove that the allegations against me are false. My life and career will not be defined by this moment in time."
After this news broke out, social media started to slam Warner Bros for removing Jhonny Depp.
