Nirbhaya Rape and Murder Case: Convict moves review petition to claim juvenility prior hanging on February 1

Pawan Gupta, one of the death-row-convicts of Nirbhaya rape and murder case has filed a review petition against the Supreme Court's decision to dismiss his claim that he was juvenile at the time of brutal rape and murder case which senstized the nation on a cold night of December 16, 2012.

All the four convicts has been ordered sentence to death by Delhi Courts which is due on February 1.

Earlier, the Supreme Court had rejected juvenility plea of Pawan Gupta and had held that the issue has been decided on the parameters of documents and can not be re-exercised. 

Yet, once again, Pawan Gupta has filed a review petition just a day before his hanging along with other three convicts.

On Thursday, the death-row-convicts had moved a trial court with a plea to adjourn the February 1 execution "sine die" saying that they are yet to avail their remaining legal remedies. However, the apex court has dismissed review petition on Thursday.

Convict Vinay Kumar Sharma, on Wednesday, had filed a mercy pplea before President and the Supreme Court today rejected the curative petition of Akshay Kumar Singh. who will probably file a clemency plea soon.

Mukesh Kumar, of four convicts, has exercised all his legal and judicial remedies, including the clemency plea which was dissolved by President Ram Nath Kovind on January 17 and the appeal against the rejection was ripped-off  by the Supreme Court on Wednesday.

According to the guidelines of Supreme Court, convicts can not be hanged until 14 days after their mercy plea gets rejected by the President.
