Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Saturday met the Braveheart soldier Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman in a Delhi Hospital and the IAF pilot briefed her about his 60 hour stay in Pakistan.

He said that he is sound in body and mind. Though, Pakistan harassed him mentally, he is being treated in a Delhi Hospital.

He was in Pakistan's custody for 58 hours after being captured when he landed in Pakistan post ejection from his Mig-21 fighter jet.

In what is called 'cooling down' in medical terms, he is being treated for that module and will be kept under medical surveillance for a while.

He is expected to be sent for a leave afterwards.
