In the wake of a violent sword attack at Duggal Chaap eatery in Milap Chowk, Jalandhar Central Halka Incharge Nitin Kohli condemned the incident in strong terms and called for strict action against the accused. The attack, carried out by a group of men dressed in Nihang attire over an alleged delay in food service. The shop owner and his brothers were left injured in the attack.

Kohli, who visited the site along with other local leaders, expressed deep concern over the brazen act of violence. “This is extremely wrong. A single shop was attacked by so many people. Such hooliganism cannot be tolerated,” he said.

He appreciated the swift response by the police, stating, “The police took immediate action and registered an FIR. The culprits will be dealt with firmly and without delay.”

Highlighting the peaceful nature of the city, Kohli said, “Jalandhar is known for its harmony. Those who create disturbances through such acts cannot be part of this brotherhood. Anti-social elements may exist, but they will not be allowed to disrupt the fabric of our community.”

He confirmed that the incident occurred late at night and appreciated the prompt arrival of senior officers on the scene. "The police will summon the accused and ask them why they did this,” he added.

To ensure such incidents are not repeated, Kohli has called for enhanced night patrolling. “We will make efforts to ensure that in Jalandhar Central, PCR teams are present across all areas during night hours,” he said, emphasizing the need for preventive vigilance.

As the investigation continues, the police have arrested one accused and registered an FIR against four named and 10–15 unidentified individuals.
