Bihar CM Nitish Kumar and TDP's Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday gave the letter of intent or letter of support to the BJP during the NDA alliance meeting in New Delhi. BJP had called an emergency NDA meeting on Wednesday after it failed to reach the magical 272 mark in the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Results. It was reported that INDIA alliance bosses had dialed Nitish Kumar and tried to woo him back by Deputy PM's post, however, it seems like JDU Supremo is not in a mood flip-flop again.

As per news porta, sources in the known development suggest that both JDU and TDP have given their letter of intent to the BJP to form NDA government as Narendra Modi as the PM. However, the letter of intent was not necessary for the BJP as their alliance was pre-poll. Still, in order to show strength and unity to the opposition block, the BJP has accepted the letter of intent backing Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister.

What's next after the NDA meeting?

The BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will meet President Droupadi Murmu later today 'immediately' after a huddle at Prime Minister Narendra Modi's residence to review the election result - to stake claim to form the new government. As per reports, in a show of strength made significant by the underwhelming margin of the BJP's victory, the meeting with President Murmu will be attended by the party's senior-most leaders including Chandrababu Naidu and Nitish Kumar.

For the unversed, TDP won 28 Lok Sabha seats in Andhra Pradesh (and a simultaneous Assembly election to return as Chief Minister) and Nitish Kumar's JDU won 16 seats in Bihar.
