The central Bangladeshi Government has suspended permission for actor-dancer Nora Fatehi to perform at an event in the capital Dhaka in a move aimed to save dollars looking at the situation where the country has been dealing with the austerity measures.

In its recent shift to take on the prevailing austerity measures, the government has disallowed Nora’s recent show where she was to perform in Dhaka comes with the aim to save dollars.

The move is aimed to maintain the foreign exchange reserve measures associated with the country’s stand on the global footing, the announcement was made through Bangladesh’s Ministry of Cultural Affairs.

In its notifications, the ministry cited the central bank’s restrictions on dollar payments amid dwindling foreign exchange reserves in the country.

In a hit to the economy, the country’s forex reserve has plunged to $36.33 billion as of October 12th from $46.13 billion in the corresponding period last year.

As a result of which the administration has sorted to disallow many of such unessential activities involving payment in foreign currency, which involves Nora’s show at Dhaka as well.

Nora Fatehi has been on the top of her career at present over the years she has carved out a niche for herself in the industry beginning with dance numbers in various films.

She has even risen to global fame with her latest assignment linked to the FIFA World cup scheduled later this year in Qatar.

Among her famous dance numbers, she has featured in the films like, Baahubali, Satyamev Jayate, and Temper, as well as the upcoming Hindi release, Thank God.

Besides, starring in supporting roles in films like Bharat, Street Dancer 3D, and Bhuj: The Pride of India. At present, she is presiding over the judge of the reality show Dance Deewane.
